Yooohoooo!

Argh....I've been busy doing different goodies and obviously not blogging.

I decided I "had" to clean my sewing room so I started making piles on the floor to re-file my fabrics from bridesmaid bags, craft projects, etc.  And then I started to work on some other projects before I actually got anything put away.  Sigh........THIS.....is still waiting for me!  lol

I swapped out some blocks for my Yahoo group.  I think I have enough of these blocks to make a nice size quilt.  I have to go in search on my other blocks I did the last two swaps to see just how many blocks I have.  I can't wait to go to my retreat next month, not only to see my friends in Indiana but also to get some sewing time to play with these blocks!

Some of the things I've been doing while being "absent" the last few weeks is I made some table cards for my friend's daughter's wedding.  I printed the wording with my computer on cardstock and then cut a little embellishment out with my Cricut machine.  I got the pretty rose paper at Michael's.

The bride-to-be will have a photo booth and asked for a sign they could hold up to put in their thank you notes.  I cut several signs but didn't remember to take a photo of the finished product.  I cut apart the Mr. & Mrs. and put the couples new married last name underneath it, I did the "just married" on the other side of the sign and did a few different fonts that said "thank you" so they could have a variety.

I went and helped my friend Anna put together some favor boxes for her nieces wedding she's going to next month.  The wedding is on the east coast so she packed these all up to be mailed and they'll add the little flower on top once the boxes are filled with chocolates.

She cut the shapes out with the Top Note die from Stampin' Up! and we glued two match boxes inside.  The will fill them with eight Hershey's Nuggets.  They aren't glued down yet so they're a little wonky.  :o)

Then....I had purchased a onesie die and cut out about 100 of these little cuties.  My girls are doing a craft show in a few weeks so I thought I would make some "clotheslines" to sell.  I will include 10 onesies, the bakers twine and clothespins.  I made about seven 'kits' for either a boy, girl or generic nursery print cardstock.  This onesie isn't a finished one.  After this photo, I added three little brads where the snaps would go.  They're so darn cute!!!

And FINALLY back in the sewing room!!!  I cut out enough 'kits' for 14 make up bags for the craft show.  I am using the Little Glam Bag pattern.  It's so easy and uses such a small amount of fabric, it's perfect to clean up the scraps in my stash.  Too bad it didn't even make a dent!

Soooo, will all of this to do, I might be gone for another little bit but I will try not to wait too long to post again.

Happy Easter!!! (Really this time!)

I didn't think I would have a chance to get back on my blog and do a post but I had a quick crafty moment the other night so here were are!

I wanted to bring my boss and neighbor down the hall a little goodie for Easter.  And just about the time my old brain was tick-tocking 'what to do, what to do', I got an email newsletter from howdoesshe.com.  The blog post was for Easter projects include little round can toppers for these bunny pails....

Here's the link for the howdoesshe blog post and the direct link to the blog post by Jenny, the woman who created the free download for the can tops.  Six toppers print on a page and you can punch them out with a 2 1/2" circle punch.  Easy as "can" be.  lol  Couldn't help myself.

I couldn't find any Big League Chew (gum) that they call for in the freebie so I used Sweetart jelly beans.  Can you say DELICIOUS?  And the colors were just right!

The cans at Michael's are a little too pricey for my liking, around $5 each.  When I spotted these cans in the dollar spot (at either Target or Michael's - I can't remember which) about a month ago for $1 each, I grabbed five bucks worth.  And as usual, I wish I would've purchased more than five!  They are a little taller than the ones at Michael's but they worked and the price was right!

Because they are a little taller, there was room for a little something inside the center.  I put a Skittles egg but a few chocolates or a gift card would work too.

I know the meaning behind Easter isn't all about bunnies but I can't help falling into the trap bunnies, pastel colors and Springtime.  I hope you have a wonderful Easter with your family and friends at this wonderful time of year.

Happy Easter (a little early)

Where does the time go???  Almost two weeks since my last post.  And since I'm trying to get things ready for a family gathering at the park on Saturday, I think this might be my only post this week but you never know....

I made some Easter cards, started on Thursday and finished this weekend.  They are in their mail on the way to provide Easter greetings.  :o)

This card was made with a basket from an old Stampin' Up set.  I stamped the basket with Versamark, embossed it with clear embossing powder and then hit it with the heat gun.  I did the same thing to the bunny.  I love the versamark to get that tone-on-tone effect.  I cut eggs out of Designer Series paper with a medium oval punch and tucked a little 'grass' in the basket.  The card I copied this from used real clear grass but I didn't have any.  I embossed the white cardstock behind the basket for some texture.  I think this card was my favorite out of the three I made.  Maybe.  I kept one and put on the mantle.  My only Easter decoration.  lol

I used the same oval punch to cut out these eggs and used a bird punch for the little peeps.  I saw the card on an online video but the card was a little plain.  I embossed the background with a swirl and liked it much better.

And I did a repeat of the chocolate bunny for one more card.  I used the polka dot embossing folder to emboss the chocolate chip paper and the white behind the bunny.  I found this one online too.

If I don't get a chance to stop back by (gotta clean the house for all the company!), I hope you have a wonderful blessed Easter.
